I was first impressed by Christina Martin when I met her as she walked into the cafe carrying a small suitcase and guitar case in hand. We struck up a conversation and she was as real as her music. I was also a little shocked that she was the artist that had a poster staring at me at The Red Brick for the last month and I looked forward to hearing her play while I was putting together the premiere print issue of iN Magazine.

I was impressed again when she began to play and sing. Her sensitive lyrics and proficient guitar style, were such a treat that I had to ask her if she would like to be interviewed between sets. Short and to the point. After nine years of a part-time commitment to her art, she told me without flinching after all that there came a day a year and a half ago, when she had to go for for broke and follow her passion full-time. After listening to her album, I can truly say, that her new found commitment shows in every bar.

iN Magazine is committed to bringing you ther reader, listener, watcher, artist and the lot, what we think is important about the artist experience and journey. This was my first interview, and it told me from head to heart why I’m busting my but as an artist, because that is what drives me. Beyond the day-to-day grind is a world yet to be experienced, and the artist, (anyone who creates, and you know who you are) that draws it forth. If you’ve had a chance to see Elizabeth Gilbert’s Ted talk, all I have left to say to Christina, and all the other artists that have or will be deciding to give it their all, is Olé! Olé! Olé!
